Coarse steel powder is produced from recycled steel (black steel - Construction steel). It can rust. It demonstrates strong attraction to magnets. It has a high flow rate so that it can be dispensed from a shaker. It does not contain organic impurities.
S100N is an improved version of the original S100 with added benefits such as dust free, equal size particles, mostly spherical particles.
S100 applications include:
1. Used as iron filing in performing science experiments related to magnetism or electromagnetism. This product is preferred by educators because it is very clean and is free from cutting oil and other contamination.
2. Used to create rust effect in sculptures, concrete and other structures.
3. May be used as a plant nutrient as a source of iron.
