Benzotriazole, Metal Corrosion Inhibitor
Versatile rust-preventer and antioxidant additiveBenzotriazole, Metal Corrosion Inhibitor
Benzotriazole, Metal Corrosion Inhibitor is a high purity chemical compound supplied as needle-like crystals. It is used as a versatile rust-preventer and antioxidant additive in industrial applications. This material is slightly soluble in cold water, ethanol, and ether, and is used in lubricating oil, hydraulic oil, brake oil, transformer oil, emulsions, antifreezing liquids, circulating water treatment, and vapor phase inhibitor formulations. It is also used as a water stabilizer, ultraviolet resistance agent, antistatic electricity agent, photographic antifogging agent, copper mine flotation agent, polymer stabilizer, plant growth regulator, and UV absorber. It may be used with scale inhibitors, sterilization agents, and algicides where compatible. Similar products include Sodium Benzoate, Propyl Gallate, Butylated Hydroxyanisole (BHA), Butylated Hydroxytoluene (BHT), and Gallic Acid. These products are different materials, and research is required to determine the best fit for each application. Not for food, drug, pesticide, or biocidal product use.
