    Polyvinylalcohol Grade 22-88, Pva 217, Elvanol 52-22 (PVOH2288)

Polyvinyl Alcohol Grade 22-88, PVA 217, Elvanol 52-22

Polyvinyl Alcohol grade 22-88 is a water-soluble polymer produced by the alcoholysis of polyvinyl acetate. It has a viscosity of approximately 22 cps in a 4% solution. This polymer is widely used as a binder in sizes due to its excellent penetration and adhesion properties on various fibrous materials. Its remarkable film characteristics include high cohesion, toughness, low electrostatic charging, and redissolving capacity in water.

PVOH 22-88 offers excellent barrier properties, repelling oil, grease, and fat due to its insolubility in most organic solvents. It enhances mechanical strength when applied as a film on paper or paperboard, making it an ideal surface sizing agent. It also serves as an outstanding carrier for optical brightening agents and pigments. This grade can replace Elvanol® 52-22, Poval 26-88, Selvol 523, and PVA-217 with comparable viscosity.
